In the
beginning . . .
Scarab National is the fruit of Ben Whitehouse’s irrepressibly
entrepreneurial spirit coupled with a passion for getting things done.
The
entrepreneurial impetus that forged our beginnings has continued to
shape our mindset and actions ever since. |

Our
philosophy is as simple as it is demanding. "Creative strategies that work!" is
the phrase that best sums up what we are about. We think and act from a
strategic perspective. We constantly seek creative solutions – solutions that
really work, that succeed in practice. In other words, we collaborate closely
with our clients to see their vision become reality. Everything we do is focused
on this one goal. That is the yardstick by which our clients ultimately measure
us.

Expert strategists
Successful strategies – and these are the only kind we want
– generally exhibit three common attributes. First, they are
rooted in excellent analysis of harsh business reality.
Second, they are tailored to the unique competitive
situation of each individual client, for whom they aim to
create lasting value. Third, they are firmly anchored in the
client company and lived out by each and every employee.
Only if we succeed in designing a consulting process that
meets all three requirements does strategy become what it
really should be: an art, not a quick fix. This ambition
demands a lot of our consultants. They must be level-headed
analysts, creative thinkers and sensitive, can-do motivators
all in one.
The many faces of success
Our clients include global corporations, midsized companies
and small sole traders. We work for every industry and in
every region. Every single strategy we develop is fine-tuned
to the individual requirements and specific conditions that
apply to the client in question. Growth strategies,
reorganization, post-merger integration, restructuring.
The goal is always the same: to maximize performance – and
keep it that way in the long run.
Beetles in mythology - the Scarab
In ancient
Egypt, the scarab was a symbol of the Sun's cycle and Kephri or Kephara, god
of the rising sun, was represented as a scarab or a man with the head of a
scarab. He was the god of transformations and the constant renewing of life.
Scarabs were sometimes painted carrying solar balls instead of balls of
dung.
At one point it was thought that there were only male scarabs, who would
plant their seed into the ball of dung they rolled over the ground with
their hind legs. The rolling with the ball of dung was said to be an
imitation of the Sun's path from east to west. The verb 'kheper', meaning
'to come into existence', was represented by a hieroglyph of a scarab with
legs outstrechted.
The symbol of the srepresenting the renewal of life and resurrection spread
from Egypt to the entire eastern Mediterranean region. It also appears in
this aspect in early Christian symbolism.
